Tennessee is the true gateway to the American South. Situated just below Kentucky and Virginia, Tennessee combines the beauty and culture of both the Appalachian region and the south, as the Appalachian Mountains comprise a large portion of the state’s eastern segment. Because of this, Tennessee is a unique, beautiful state, and one that provides ample opportunities to reap the benefits of commercial steel buildings. Don’t believe us? Let the steel building professionals at Kentucky Steel Buildings, Panel & Supply in Winchester, Kentucky tell you why.

History

The state now known as Tennessee was originally part of the land making up North Carolina. It was then classified as part of the Southwest Territory, and then finally became the state of Tennessee in 1796. During the Civil War, Tennessee was the last state to secede from the Union, as well as being the first state admitted back after the war ended. Despite this, it heavily provided soldiers to both the Union and the Confederacy during the war. Today, Tennessee has a thriving economy, based primarily on manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism, all industries that would find great use in commercial steel buildings from Kentucky Steel Buildings, Panel & Supply.

Attractions

While it is on the smaller side geographically, Tennessee is one of the country’s more populous states, with over six and a half million residents. With all of these residents, it only makes sense that Tennessee has so much to offer visitors and residents alike. The state capital of Nashville alone is bursting with things to do. Largely known for being the seat of country music in the United States, many of Nashville’s biggest sights are music related, such as the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee despite not being the capital, and still has plenty to do and see in its own right, from the National Civil Rights Museum to Graceland, the former home of rock ‘n roll musician Elvis Presley. If city life is not your cup of tea, Tennessee also has plenty of rugged natural beauty to offer. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both popular resort destinations at the foot of the Smoky Mountains. Tennessee has plenty of beautiful nature to see, including three different mountain ranges: the Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Appalachian Mountains.
